Law Focus looks at the housing crisis in CapeTown, as Bromwell residents face eviction due to the on-going gentrification process sparked by property developers-The Woodstock Hub. The Hub has been in an ongoing legal battle with the residents since acquiring the property in 2013.

We speak to Cllr Brett Herron, Mayoral Committee Member: Transport and Urban Development Authority for the City of Cape Town, Jared Rossouw who is co-director at Ndifuna Ukwazi which is an activist organisation and law center that promotes the realisation of Constitutional Rights and Social Justice.

Later on we have Thulani Nkosi who is a senior attorney at the Socio Economic Rights Institute (SERI) of South Africa which is representing the community of the Marikana Informal Settlement at the Western Cape High Court. SERI argues that the land should be expropriated in terms of section 93 of the housing act, setting a new precedent.
