South Africa’s defined by an alarmingly high and growing unemployment rate and one of the suggested solutions is self-employment. In the recent budget speech, the Minister of Finance stated how enterprise development would be one of the main solutions (If not the most imperative) in dealing with the country’s economic issues – thus making it increasingly important to cultivate entrepreneurship in South Africa.
Despite the various measures and programmes that have been set up or implemented to aid and support start-ups and entrepreneurs – too many obstacles are still hindering South Africa’s entrepreneurial growth.

This week on The Business Buzz, we look at all the challenges facing entrepreneurs in South Africa. We are joined in the discussion by Mzwanele Memani from the Department of Small Business Development as well as Sbu Leope, the founder of Mofaya Energy Drink.

“In our Business Wrap”, Financial Advisor Ken Swettenham gives us a recap of this week’s Business, Finance and Economic news.

We later unpack all the wonderful opportunities that Argon Asset Management has for youth and graduates in “Our 60 Second Corporate Sell”.

Our “Rant ‘n Rave” for the week is a Junior Financial Advisor, Mthokozisi Ncube, who tells us what he loves and hates about his job.
