Women have played a crucial role in protest and politics in South Africa, and this time on #LawFocus we discuss the complexity of their struggle.

We discuss this with Professor of Politics at Wits University, Shireen Hassim. Communications Manager for Oxfam South Africa, Simamkele Dlakavu gives us her experience of the women’s movement#Mbokodolead during the recent Fees Must Fall protests.
Dr Lindiwe Makhunga shows us the broader picture by comparing the role of South African women in and after the struggle with those in Rwanda.

This episode of Law Focus is produced by Elna Schutz and presented by Luxolo Matomela.
Stream Tuesdays 6-7pm on vowfm.co.za or 88.1FM in Joburg.
